WORK PHILOSOPHY & BELIEFS

As an individual, artist and employee, I believe in and adhere to the values of inclusivity, positivity and open communication. When providing a service such as makeup application or advising a customer on ingredients and products. I’m sure that I’m doing so free of any judgement or bias & full of positivity. I pride myself on being creative, not only with make up artistry, but also in coming up with solutions to potential problems that may arise in a professional environment. Both in a makeup application and a retail setting, I strongly believe that impeccable communication is of upmost importance with clients and team members. I keep a constant line of open communication to ensure that I fully understand wants and needs as well as clearly and effectively communicating necessary information back to them. My goals as a beauty advisor and makeup artist are to have the client leave with knowledge and confidence, whether it is applying a glamour look for an event or introducing a client to their new favourite product, seeing them leave beaming with confidence is why I have fallen in love with the Cosmetics industry.

CAREER GOALS

My career goals in the upcoming years reflect my passion for expanding my knowledge and experience as an artist while demonstrating my commitment to positivity and uplifting others. I aim to grow my freelance company, Bright Beauty, expanding our focus from only beauty related content and services to include mental health aspects. This will include various support resources such as easy access to help lines and education, tips on how to care for yourself without as much effort when you are struggling & so much more. In addition to this, I plan to step away from retail and fully immerse myself in a dedicated makeup artistry role while potentially pursuing further specialized education in special effects and prosthetics.

Along with my makeup artistry skills, I have acquired an immense amount of knowledge surrounding skin care through both my education and previous work experience as a beauty advisor. I’ve become equipped with all the necessary information to perform a thorough skin analysis, identify the skin type/conditions and efficiently determine which ingredients or products will fill the needs of the client while keeping in mind their individual preferences as well.

VOLUNTEER WORK

In May 2024, my Bright Beauty team and I were excited to volunteer our make up artistry skills for a charitable cause by designing and applying several looks for a fashion show. This event was hosted in order to raise funds for Abuse Hurts (The Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness). This experience truly has been one of my favourite experiences since stepping into the beauty industry and I am looking forward to volunteering with this organization again this upcoming year.
